Tsunami scare
17 April 07Our staff at the Mirage course Port Douglas were evacuated as a
precaution during the recent tsunami scare that threatened much of the
East Coast after warnings were issued by the Bureau of Meteorology.
When
the alarm was raised, Mirage superintendent Steve Jensen checked in
with Resorts head office and after “the briefest of chats” he and the
crew locked up and beat a hasty retreat until the all clear was given.
Better to be safe than sorry.
