More than a system for reducing maintenance costs Resorts Assist increases revenues for the club because along the way you attain a better looking and playing course. The additional benefit is that the club ends up with more players and members.

With our many years experience in this field we know that golf clubs as a business operate far more successfully if the club understands more about how the job of course maintenance is done.
That’s the outcome of Resorts Assist – through utilizing our training, systems and support clubs using this management system find themselves not only able to save substantial amounts of money but also preside over improvements to the condition of their course – and this has the obvious flow on effect of increasing general revenue as well.
Course maintenance represents the largest area of expenditure for any golf club and to achieve even a ten percent sustainable saving on course maintenance can be the difference between profit and loss for the club.
The fact is most clubs know what they want to achieve – savings, control and accountability over course maintenance.
However at most clubs there are few controls over course maintenance - it means clubs remain frustrated in their attempts to influence over spending, course appearance and ground staff work practices.
These are the key reasons why we have developed Resorts Assist, so that once and for all you can achieve savings, control and accountability over your course maintenance regime and create a far more sustainable and affordable situation for your club.
Never before has such a management system been available for golf clubs – designed and implemented by senior course superintendents with experience on both sides of the situation – as superintendents but also as business managers – a unique prospective and a unique system.
Resorts Assist effectively removes the knowledge gap between the club and the course maintenance operation, and in so doing empowers the club to get on with the job of securing the future of the club.
The cornerstone to getting the most out of any business is understanding the key aspects of the business and how they come together to create successful and profitable trading.
Golf clubs have long struggled to get the most from their course maintenance regimes largely due to there not being an easy to use management system on the market to provide systems, procedures and backup to bridge the knowledge gap - the result being most golf clubs have been run at low efficiency ratios.
Yet in today’s economic environment that’s what golf club’s need to achieve to be able to keep the course looking good but for an affordable price.
That’s the result of Resorts Assist – a better looking course, lower costs and more control to help golf clubs become and remain profitable businesses.
With the Resorts Assist Management System you’ll achieve significant cost savings on your course maintenance budget – you’ll also enjoy better trading as a direct result of the course being better presented.
The charts below indicate how course maintenance expenditure always represents a golf clubs largest area of cost – the values shown for administration and house costs are representative only and may vary between clubs.

Combined with access to the Resorts nationwide network of suppliers, Resorts Assist can help you take control of course maintenance to create an accountable and sustainable grounds maintenance regime.
Key to helping you attain and maintain a first class golf course are our systems to improve the knowledge base of all relevant personnel. Our experience with the contracting division of Resorts shows that this not only provides significant performance benefits but also an improved work ethic from ground staff and a better relationship with club management.

A. In many cases golf courses are maintained up to 20% less efficiently than can be achieved, we have proven this many times right around the country. By being trained to use our proven productivity, quality and financial control systems and receiving comprehensive backup to make it happen you can fast track sustainable cost savings and improved efficiencies for your course maintenance operation.
This combination of the club gaining knowledge, operating systems and our backup very quickly creates an environment of accountability which translates into a more efficient operation.
Cost savings are achieved through a combination of improved financial control, better buying power and in some cases less ground staff who become better trained and more productive.
A. Resorts Assist is best described as a Management System, specifically designed for golf clubs to achieve major improvements to your course maintenance. It brings together standard business operating systems in the areas of productivity, quality control and financial control standard in most other industries in a way that makes sense for a golf club.
It is designed to be used by either the club manager or a senior club official and takes around two hours per week of input from the club. As a requirement of the system all ground staff are required to fill out very simple time and duties recorders and also to participate in a regular course presentation assessment. The club receives written reports from us on overall progress of the program and there are regular scheduled one on one onsite consultations and training from your Assist consultant.
A. The ingredient that makes this management system work is that everything in this system, from the documents and recorders, to the training and support systems, has been designed by industry experts with decades of experience in how to best supervise and monitor ground staff and how to maximize productivity and quality control. With our systems and backup in place at your club the workplace dynamic changes from one where the maintenance crew knows that the club doesn’t really know or understand what’s happening out on the course to one where the club now has knowledge, systems and back up from us to bring about positive change. Once the maintenance crew comes to realize that the club is now empowered with this knowledge and backup this creates a very receptive environment for positive change.
A. Early on in the program a customized report is provided to the club including target expenditure, target staff numbers and recommendations regarding the equipment inventory. We know from experience that it’s not about having lots of machinery rather it’s all about having less of the right equipment. This report will also include financing options and even provide pathways to good quality second hand equipment. As far as the staff are concerned this system is not designed to be a big stick approach rather it assists ground staff to recognize that as the club is now serious enough about achieving positive change to put the Resorts Assist system into place they had best get with the program and work smarter. Also, the realization that the club has our backing in their efforts definitely creates a receptive environment for positive change.
A. The Resorts Assist management system is designed to be effective and affordable for any size golf club. You’ll achieve a cost saving of up to 25% on your current course maintenance cost as well as an increase in revenue from having a better presented course. The system is customized for each client but costs around 3% of the course maintenance budget – a small amount when you consider how much will be saved each year with this system. It’s very much about making money for the club rather than it being a cost and should be seen as being a very good investment in the future of the club.
